EQUITY & INCLUSION
The Douglas County Task Force on Family Violence believes in the right of all persons to live their lives without fear, abuse, oppression and violence. We appreciate the diversity of our county's citizens made possible by race, ethnicity, gender identity, ancestry, place of origin, color, citizenship, religion/spirituality, sexual orientation, age, marital status, family status, economic status, political affiliation, and ability.

We unequivocally stand against racism and oppression, committing ourselves to engage in an ongoing process of active learning and analysis that sees all systems of oppression as interrelated and we commit further, to work together to challenge the power structures that legitimize racism and oppression, and perpetuate injustices.
We affirm the power of community, recognizing our differences and our shared humanity to learn about oppression, and demonstrate our true compassion about the impact of the various oppressions.
We will examine and improve practices, policies and protocols, on an ongoing basis, ensuring compliance with this statement, validating the experiences of our citizens, and encouraging and supporting member programs in their equity and inclusion efforts.

In these efforts, we will be a part of long-overdue attention to injustice in our country. Through our members' leadership, we envision ongoing progress in creating equity and inclusion for all.
